| Just in case anyone was unsure which
flat was hosting the party. |

The third annual party took place in April this year, thereby removing
the likelihood of any sun from the proceedings and meaning that events
took place indoors.
However, the lack of sun was counter-balanced by an abundance of fun to
be served up with a feast of games including three separate Pass The Parcels,
Pin The Tail On The Donkey, The Chocolate Game and, the big one, a knockout
Flap The Fish competition.
Vinyl recordings of Kylie Minogue's 'I Should Be So Lucky' and Jason Donovan's
'Too Many Broken Hearts' doubled up as extremely versatile 'flappers'
for the tournament.
The spotlight was on Rob throughout to ensure that his cheating antics
from 2003 were not repeated.
As it happens the underhand flouting of the rules in 2004 came from Mr
Mark Golland who completely dis-regarded the basic rules of Pin The Tail
On The Donkey and tried to win by feeling his way along the wall.
Judges were on hand to disqualify him from the competition and stewards
will be reviewing video evidence in case there were further incidents
that went unseen.

| Amazingly this was the winning entry
in Pin The Tail On The Donkey, |
As usual there are a whole host of photos available courtesy
of my digital camera so have a look through the best ones in the gallery.

We corrected the lack of food mistake of last year and Jana worked tirelessly
in the kitchen preparing food throughout the whole day, almost all of which
appears to have been eaten.
The flat is still covered in balloons but i think we've found most of the
streamers, sweets and jelly dishes that were strewn over the floor earlier.
We also managed an entire event with very few spillages on the carpet, in
fact everything was going really well until we'd finished all the clearing
up on Sunday evening and Jon tipped a pint of Vimto on the clean floor.
The winners
| Event |
Winner |
| Pass The Parcel 1 |
Mark G.
(this was the low risk version without forfeit jelly) |
| Pass The Parcel 2 |
Dave.
(and he even won the special bonus book prize as well) |
| Pass The Parcel 3 |
Sally.
(The bookmakers favourite, always looked in control of the parcel
and a skilled hand at unwrapping the layers when required) |
| The Chocolate Game |
Absolutely no idea.
(but at least we decided to stop before it went on for 3 days) |
| Pin The Tail On The Donkey |
Ian.
(One of only two people who actually managed to get on the donkey)
|
| Flap The Fish |
Tom.
(Solid performance throughout, although was helped by not having to
compete in the first round) |

And that's another year over and done with. Fun In The Sun
will return in 2005, although probably in the late summer/autumn time assuming
that i do actually make it to Australia at some point later this year.
So, finally...
As ever, thanks to everyone for turning up, taking part, and at least making
it look like you were having fun on the photo's.
Thanks to Nikki who provided the completely excellent donkey with detachable
tail and both Nikki and Dave who provided the necessary construction tools
and colouring pens for Flap The Fish and The Chocolate Game.
Thanks to Dave for providing 'dave's forfeit drinks' in the final two Pass
The Parcel games.
Thanks to Jana for taking charge of the food and preparing it in the morning
and during the afternoon.
Thanks to Rob and Amie for providing the first Pass The Parcel game.
Thanks to everyone else who brought along food, drink, picked music, blew
up balloons, and generally joined in to make it lots of fun.
Thanks to all my neighbours who, for the third year in a row, have still
not made any complaints about noise or drunken behaviour.
Cheers.
